3 held with fake notes

Police detectives have arrested three members of a money counterfeiting racket with fake bills worth around Tk 650,000 from Dhaka's Paltan. Police said they were arrested in front of the Gazi Bhaban on Thursday night following raids. The arrestees are Sujon Mia, 25, Bilash Akanda, 24 and Abdur Rahim,22.
The detectives presented the arrestees along with the seized notes before the press around 11am on Friday at the Detective Branch headquarters.
"On Thursday night, we arrested Sujon first and the other two were arrested after interrogating him," the Detective Branch Additional Deputy Commissioner (West) Moshiur Rahman told reporters.
He said the arrestees admitted to their involvement in the money counterfeiting in primary interrogation.
Police are on the lookout for these rackets ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
On Jul 27, they arrested six people along with fake bills worth Tk 10 million from Dhaka's Mugda.
