Nine S Asian varsities sign agreement for cooperation

Nine major universities of South Asia, including Dhaka University and Gifu University, Japan have signed an agreement for cooperation on one-on-one partnership basis to improve the quality of education and research.

The agreement was signed recently at a roundtable held at the United Graduate School of Agricultural Science of Gifu University (UGSAS-GU), Japan..

Dhaka University Pro Vice-Chancellor (administration) Professor Sahid Akhtar Hossain signed the agreement on behalf of his university.

Besides, representatives of Gifu University, Japan; Assam University, India; Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati; Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia; Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia; Sebelas Maret University, Indonesia; Chulalongkorn University, Thailand and Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam signed on behalf of their universities.  As per this agreement, the universities will form a strong human connection, formulate future cooperation in education, research and develop consortium of doctoral programmes in Agricultural Science and Biotechnology in South Asia.
