Mohammedan retain supremacy

League leaders Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited retained their supremacy in the Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League when they crushed Azad SC by 12-1 goals at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium on Sunday.

Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited secured 24 points from eight matches while Azad SC earned three points from seven matches.

Mohammedan had a comfortable 6-0 goals lead in the first half.

Jimmy of Mohammedan Sporting Club limited scored five goals with a hat-trick. He netted in the 4th, 12th, 14th, 19th, 51st minutes and his teammate Chayan scored two goals in the 17th, 34th minutes and their colleagues Biplob, Nannu, Alamgir, Tapash, Ishtiaq successfully struck one time each on the board in the 37th, 49th, 55th, 61st, 68th minutes respectively.

Roman of Azad SC struck the consolation in the 44th minute.

In the day's other match, title aspirants Abahani Limited thrashed Sonali Bank SRC by 8-3 goals at the same venue.

Abahani Limited gained 21 points from eight matches while Sonali Bank SRC collected 15 points from seven matches.

Abahani Limited led the first half by 5-2 goals.

Prince of Abahani Limited hit a hat-trick. He scored 26th, 27th, 33rd minutes while his teammate Sabbir netted three in the 5th, 64th, 66th minutes and their associates Jubaer, Proshenjit scored one goal each in the 2nd, 69th minutes respectively.

Imran, Ajit, Nasir of Sonali Bank SRC netted one each in the 9th, 22nd, 47th minutes respectively.

Today Ajax SC will take on Police AC at 2.30 PM while Azad SC will meet Bangladesh SC at 4.15 PM at the same venue.
