A schoolboy waskilled and other two men were injured in a crossfire when two terrors groupwere locked in gunfight over supremacy in the capital's Shyampur area on Fridaynight.
The deceasedwas identified as Rabiur Rahman Sanny, a class three student of Abu Haji GovtPrimary School and son of Rasedul Islam, a van-puller and resident ofJukktibadi Habibur Rahman Lane at West Dhulaipar.
The two injuredMohammad Khokan and Salam are under the treatment in a local clinic.
Van pullerRasedul Islam told The New Nation that on Friday night at around 10:00pm hisson was sleeping after completing his homework (School's daily study).
He woke up atthe sound of shouting of a large number of people. He went outside and foundtwo local terrors groups known as the Ashad and Nuruzzaman were locked in gunfighting over supremacy in the area in the darkness as the load shedding wascontinuing, he said.
After 10 to 15minutes, one of his neighbors informed him over cell phone that his son wasinjured. "I rushed to the spot and saw my son lying on the street in apool of blood," he said. "Itook my son to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on duty doctorsdeclared my son dead" he said.
OC of theShamppur police station told the reporter that six men were arrested forinterrogation. "After the incidenta team of police had been deployed the area for maintaining peace there. Nocase was filed with the police station in this connection till writing thisreport, he said.
