The prize giving ceremony of a children art contest titled “Boishakh-e Chhobi Anko Joisthye Prodorshoni” has been held recently at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium at Central Public Library in the city’s Shahbag area. Organised by Patua Quamrul Hassan Art School, it was 4th national level art contest for the children.
Advisor of the former Caretaker government Dr Akbar Ali Khan handed over the prizes among the winners as the chief guest, while Zillur Rahman Siddiqui, Advisor to the former caretaker government, former vice chancellor of Jahangirnagar University and also Chairman of the school presided over the programme.
The ceremony was attended among others by noted and veteran artist Prof Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Director of Mercantile Bank M Amanullah, Managing Director of Mercantile Bank AKM Shahidul Haque, Deputy Managing Director of AB Bank Shamim Ahmed Chowdhury, former captain of Bangladesh National Cricket Team Raqibul Hasan, children litterateur Kaiser Chowdhury, Director of Patua Quamrul Hassan Art School, Anowar Hossain Babu and noted litterateur Ata Sarkar. n
