DU is going to declare budget today

Dhaka University (DU) is going to declare its budget for fiscal 2012-13 on Wednesday in a 2-day long senate meeting.
DU will authorities will present a budget of Tk 306.13 crore with a deficit of Tk 37 crore. It stands around 12 percent deficit, the university authorities said. Showing this huge amount of  DU treasurer Prof. Kamal Uddin is going to present the budget.
Among the total budget, UGC will give 237.40 crore. This is 77.55% of the total budget. The Universities own income is estimated to be Tk. 32 crore. The educational expense of university has been earmarked at 32.8 crore.  The budget deficit aggravated this year because of a significant rise in expenses as against a decline in its revenue from the government. DU has no opportunity to increase its income overnight.
