The religious affairs ministryhas extended time to deposit Hajj money by July 1 that was fixed in June 20,ministry official said.
Hajj Agencies Association ofBangladesh (HAAB) had been demanding extension of time to deposit entire Hajjmoney by July 31 in several instalments.
"The ministry has taken decision to extend time, consideringfinancial pressure on the hajj pilgrims if they are compelled to deposit Hajjmoney amounting Tk 303,44o at a time by June 20," said Anwar Hossain,public relation officer of the ministry.
Some 120,000 Bangla-deshis areexpected to perform Hajj this year under the government and privatemanagements. Of the pilgrims, 110,000 will perform hajj under different hajjagencies and only 10,000 under official management.
