The main purpose of observing the week is to provide railway employees with adequate knowledge on security, increase efficiency and awareness, maintenance of locomotives, ensure safety in level crossings, enhance awareness among the drivers of different vehicles about driving at level crossings, increase capacity to face emergency situation and to improve services for the passengers.
A total of 18 task forces have been formed comprising high officials of the two region and four divisions of the BR to observe the week, the release added. BR authority sought cooperation of all to successfully observe the week.
