Environment, agriculture threatened

Croplands, water bodies on both sides of Dhaka-Aricha Highway being filled up

Fertile crop lands  and water bodies on  the both sides of the Dhaka-Aricha Highway are being filled up quickly  posing threat to agriculture and environment.

 Different mills-factories, brick fields, garments, houses are going to be  built up on the crop lands. The mills and factories are throwing waste polluting environment without treatment plan.

With the difference of only 5 years many crop lands and water bodies  of Nayadingi, Kamta, Golora, Uchutia, Muljan, Bhatbour, Tara, Baniajuri, Joka, Phukhuria, Pachuria, Mohadebpur, Barangail, Mushuria, Falsatia, Tepra, Uthali, Boyali, Arpara, Nabagram, Daskandi, Paturia areas of the both sides of Dhaka-Aricha-Paturia Highway are being used for building different institutions.

The land owners are making roads and sub-roads violating rules.

Using the advantages of communication mills, housing projects, hardboard mills, garments, jute mills, steel mills, cow feed processing center  , filling stations, brick fields, hotel  and restaurants  are being set up on the  both the sides of the Highway.   

 Land owners  are selling their fertile crop lands. Local brokers are getting huge money by doing this  business. In rainy season flow of water is obstructed and for  this crops on the  lands are being damaged every year.
