Despite concerted efforts, the law enforcers have utterly failed to bring book the culprits responsible for the recent two sensational murder cases and a disappearance incident that took place in recent past in the capital.
Journalist couple -- Sagor-Runi -- were killed at their rented residence on February 10, Saudi diplomat Khalaf al-Ali was murdered near his Gulshan residence on 6 while opposition BNP leader M Elias Ali along with his driver went missing since April 19.
Commander Sohail, director of legal and media wing of RAB told The New Nation on Friday that the investigation in Sagor-Runi murder case is continuing vigorously to find out the clue and to nab the4 criminals. He said the viscera report of the slain journalist couple Sagar and Runi was prepared about ten days ago.
However, Runi's brother Nawsher Alam Roman told this reporter that they were in total dark about the viscera report as well as the progress of the investigation.
Megh, the only surviving minor son of Sagor and Runi, was present at the place of occurrence. Sagar, a news editor at TV station Maasranga and Runi, a senior reporter at TV channel ATN Bangla were brutally slaughtered on February 10.
The High Court on April 18 ordered to shift the murder case to the elite force --RAB -- as detectives failed to find out any clue of the murder.
The home minister had recently also told journalists that investigation was going on to unearth the Sagor-Runi murder and to trace the missing of BNP leader M Elias Ali.
Meanwhile, leaders of several journalists' organizations, in a joint statement, have demanded that the law enforcement agencies should interrogate immediately the ATN Bangla chairman in connection with the killing of the journalist couple Sagar-Runi.
