Kazi Nazrul Islam is the National Poet of Bangladesh. Popularly known as 'Rebel Poet' for his immemorable poem 'Bidrohi', unique in the world of literature, he has been greatly acclaimed for his revolutionary thoughts. He was the champion of freedom, human rights, equality and fraternity of mankind. He fought with his mighty and uncompromising pen to establish a society free from exploitation and deprivation. He was a protagonist of universal and eternal human values. This great poet of Bengali literature, represented Bangladesh, its people irrespective of caste, creed and colour, its struggles against foreign domination, its expectation and prospects to become an ideal nation the government of Bangladesh awarded him the greatest honour as the 'National Poet' of Bangaldesh.
So, it is a prime task of all literature and Nazrul loving conscious citizens of Bangladesh, to uphold the dignity of the great poet and his humanist thought, so that the people of our country achieve their goal.
Nazrul Academy has long been contributing to the dissemination of the thoughts of the National Poet. Nazrul Academy Patrika, a standard research journal on our National Poet's contribution to literature, people and motherland, has been dedicated to the service of the nation for more then four decades. It occupies a distinct position among the journals with humanistic mission and vision.
Mintu Rahman, distinguished Nazrul Sangeet artiste, the sixth term General Secretary of Nazrul Academy, leads the institution and publishes the journal, which has a glorious tradition of projecting the poet, his lofty ideals and his cultural contributions. Dr. Ashraf Siddiqi is the president of Nazrul Academy.

The article Nazruler prokritipath reflects a vivid picture of our nature in the songs and poems of the poet. Mintu Rahman's article on poem 'Bidrohi' throws an in-depth focus on its related history and significance. The poem, as the writer mentions, in the opinion of the distinguished Nazrul researchers and literary figures, deserves supreme position in the world of literature (poems). Muhammad Asad's Nazrul-Nargis-Promila is a presentation from authentic sources. Distinguished cultural figure and writer Mustafa Zaman Abbasi in the article Nazruler bidroho kar biruddhe presents analytical approach and focuses on the unique fight of the poet against mighty powers. Kazi Nazrul Islam, through translation of his works to other prominent languages, has been introduced to the literary circles of the world, and research on his universal thought is going on, for which he is being honoured as a World Poet, according to the evaluation of the editor in the 'editorial'.
