AFB distributes books on International Women’s Day

The Asia Foundation's Books for Asia program in Bangladesh celebrated the International Women's Day by distributing 7,500 books across a wide variety of disciplines, such as English, Business, Management, and Computer Science, to 75 Girl's schools & colleges from all over the country. The mission of this event is to advance girls' education and close the gender gap in education through access to information and knowledge. Books for Asia Bangladesh aim to reach every girl's schools and colleges in the country.
The former Deputy Speaker of Bangladesh Government and Member of Standing Committee of Ministry of Finance, Prof Md. Ali Ashraf MP were present as special guests for the occasion. The Asia Foundation's Bangladesh Country Representative Mr. Hasan Mazumdar and Books for Asia Coordinator Ms. Sukla Dey , Human Resource Manager Ms. Shaheen Parvin also attended the event along with representatives of the recipient institutions.
At the beginning of the program, Sukla Dey welcomed all to join on the Book Donation Event to celebrate International Women's Day. She introduced the invited guests and participants. 
The special guests spoke about the challenges of girls' education in the country and acknowledged The Asia Foundation for its continuous support of Bangladesh's education system through its book donation program.
