Contemporary painting exhibition at Drik Gallery

Now-a-days, people are getting so tiring on their custom life. They stay busy on running behind their workings to earn their brass. And all these efforts are assembling them like a machine, which formulates their mind monotonous. But they get very short instance to relive themselves from this droning life. In their short leisure period they do their best to remove their monotony.
Some people play music, some people hangout with friends and family and some people do paintings. To show the artistry of leisure period, an eight- day long contemporary painting exhibition by eight innovative artists of modern instance is being held at Drik Gallery in the city’s Dhanmondi area.
All these artists are from different professions of different organizations. The names of the artists are Rafique Sddiqui, Shah Mainul Islam Shiplu, Tarit Barua, Prodyot Kumar Roy, Sunil Kumar, Prabal Kumar Saha, Sudipta Mallick Sweden and Uttam Kumar Talukdar.
A total of 40 paintings of the artists are being displayed in this exhibition. Among the paintings Sunil Kumar’s ‘After Hundred Years’, Prabal Kumar Saha’s ‘War & Peace’, Tarit Barua’s ‘Rythm of Life’ and Sudipta Mallick Sweden’s ‘Ganesh 1 & 2’ may draw attraction of the viewers.
The artists have used acrylic on canvas, oil on canvas, soil on canvas and mixed media as the media of their paintings. They have predominantly used red, blue, yellow and green on their paintings.
In the painting ‘After Hundred Years,’ the artist Sunil Kumar has sketched the famous poet and novelist Rabindranath Tagore. Here the artist has tried to illustrate the moment of Rabindranath while he was writing poetry and novels about hundred years ago.
Another painting ‘War & Peace’ of Probal Kumar Saha demonstrated the circumstances of our liberation war.
Here the artist has tried to exemplify the blazing of war and how everything becomes silent after its devastation.
And the paintings ‘Ganesh 1 & 2’ by Sudipta Mallick Sweden explain the different characters of lord ‘Ganesh’. Here the artist has tried to explain that how ‘Ganesh’ passed his leisure period on past and how he may passes now in this modern instance.
All these paintings are also for sale and the cost of the paintings are varying from Tk 20,000 to 40,000.
